How-to-use

Step 1: Shorten your nails (if needed)

Use the more abrasive side of the white emery board (without the Manucurist logo) to reduce the length of your nails. Without filing back and forth, start at the sides and move towards the "top" of the nail to balance the shape.

Step 2: Smooth out the shape

Use the less abrasive side of the white emery board (with the Manucurist logo) to smooth out and fine-tune the shape.

Step 3: Soften the skin around the nail

Use the dropper to apply our 97%-plant-based Cuticle Remover to the contour of each nail. Leave to work for 2 minutes.

Step 4: Push back the skin around the nail

Use our stainless steel cuticle remover to push back the skin around the nail, keeping the tip of the tool as parallel to the nail as possible. You usually start with the rounder tip and finish removing the last of the dead skin with the straighter tip.

Step 5: Prep the nail for polish

Use the Nail Priming Emery Board to gently buff the nail without moving back and forth.

Step 6: Remove the oil from the nail before applying polish

Soak a cotton pad in nail polish remover to clean your nails and remove any oil before applying your base coat. We don't recommend washing your hands, as the base coat will not adhere properly if your nails are damp.

Step 6: Moisturize your nails

Carefully wash your hands and apply our Green Oil, Complete Serum and Hand Cream.

Glass Bottle: Emptied, cleaned and dried bottles can either be reused or placed in a recycling bin seperate from other materials to avoid contamination. If your local municipality does not accept glass for recycling, bottles can be brought to a collection center. No need to remove labeling.

Plastic Cap (Plastic-type #5 - Polypropylene): Clean and remove cap from brush attachment and place in recycling bin or bring to a local collection center.

Nail Brush (Plastic-type #4 - Low Density Polyethylene): Clean and remove cap from brush and place in recycling bin or bring to a local collection center.

Label: No need to remove label as glass recycling processes will remove any labelling

Box (Kraft Paper Box): Paper box can be unfolded and added to paper recycling bin or brought to a local collection center, Kraft paper box can also be added to any compost bin.

Can I use a treatment base coat as a base coat for my Green™ or Green Flash™ polish?

Treatment base coats can be used as a base coat as part of your Green manicure.

However, they cannot be used instead of a Green Flash™ base coat, which needs to dry under the lamp.

How many coats of treatment base coat do I need to apply?

A single coat is enough.

Can I use a treatment base coat under Green Flash™?

For maximum staying power, we recommend that you only use Green Flash™ Base Coat.

Can treatment base coats be removed with Green Flash™ Nail Polish Remover?

All our treatment base coats can be removed like our polish - with our Nail Polish Remover or Green Flash™ Nail Polish Remover.

If I want to apply more treatment base coat, should I remove the old coat first?

When using a treatment base coat, there's no need to remove the previous coat.

Can pregnant and/or breastfeeding women use your nail care range?

Our nail care formulas are green and clean: they are up to 99% plant-based, i.e. made from biomass ingredients like aloe vera, lemon, ginseng, pomegranate and grape. However, women should avoid all types of nail polish when they are pregnant or breastfeeding. We recommend you speak to a healthcare professional if you are unsure.

Can using your nail care products cause allergies?

Our nail care formulas meet European standards and do not contain any sensitising substances. They are also certified gluten-free and safe for people with gluten intolerance or celiac disease, as are our Green Flash™, Green™ and Active™ ranges. Most customers who are allergic to regular nail care products are not allergic to the Manucurist nail care range. However, as allergic reactions are not specifically linked to chemical ingredients, they can sometimes occur with plant-based ingredients. We recommend you speak to a healthcare professional if you are unsure.
